Step #1. Inspection

When you call to book an inspection with us at Attic Kings And your home is in Snellville, Georgia we can get there fast. Oftentimes we can accommodate same-day appointments. We will come out and ask a few questions, such as:
  • Where are you hearing the noise?
  • What kind of noises are you hearing?
  • What time do you hear the noise?
It’s very important to find out if the animal is nocturnal or not. These questions help us determine the kind of animal pest you have. We just want to make sure you just have squirrels and nothing else or different. After we ask those questions, we proceed to the attic to try and find the evidence. We are looking for evidence such as droppings, chewed wires, chewed wood, nesting, squirrel damage, urine smell, babies, tunneling in insulation, other animals that might be living with the squirrels, and so on. While we’re in the attic, we will look for any light that may be coming in from the outside roofline. Usually when there’s light coming through it will tell us where the squirrels have chewed their way into the attic. This area is very important because that’s where the safety exit tunnel needs to go. The safety exit tunnel is a one-way door that will allow the squirrels a free exit without re-entry to the attic. This only works if we make sure that we seal or repair all possible entry points. These vulnerable places can include, but are not limited to:

  • Eaves
  • Dormers
  • Attic fans
  • Roof vents
  • Corners
  • Valleys
  • Fascia boards
  • Chimneys
  • Construction gaps

Really any place they may be able to gain entry. Once we have finished this inspection all the work performed and the removal method will be on your estimate.

Step #2. Installation, Squirrel-Proofing, and  Exclusion

squirrel on a hot slate roofAfter we have finished the inspection and quoted you a great price and you have hired us, the exclusion work begins. Our crew will proceed to install 23-gauge galvanized steel over the construction gap in the roofline, under the shingles. That area is often called a builder’s gap or breathing space, too. It’s the area below the shingles and above the gutter. Once we have installed the material, it will not be visible from the outside. After the roofline, we make sure all the corners, valleys, dormers, gable vents, roof vents, and attic fans are repaired or sealed. Everything on our agreement must be done.

Step #3.  Squirrel Eviction and Guarantee

At this stage in the game, the inspection’s been done and the house has been totally sealed to keep out all squirrels. This doesn’t include the main entry point where the squirrels have been mainly coming in and out. For the final step, we must install the squirrel safety exit tunnel. This device must go over the entry point, where the squirrels are used to going in. Once we install this device over the hole, we will wait up to 14 days. This allows enough time for the squirrels to get hungry enough to go out. Once they go out, they will not be able to get back in that way because the device contains a special set of spikes on the end that are only sharp to the squirrels way back in, not on their way out. We also put a little peanut butter on the outside of the tunnel to lure the squirrels out. So we don’t harm the squirrels, we just get them outside where they belong.

After the eviction process is over, the noises will stop and your home will be back to a healthy, quiet safe place to live again. Your house will be under our guarantee and you will have the option to renew every year for a small fee. This process works on flying squirrels and other rodents as well.

Jonathan and his crew were very professional and took care of our huge critter problem. He did several follow-up visits to make sure the traps were working and was always available to answer my questions. They were a pleasure to work with and worth every dollar.

I had a bad squirrel problem in my attic, so I called Attic Kings. They came out to do an inspection and found out how the pests were getting in. They installed one of their tunnels and within days, they were gone. It has been over a year since Attic Kings have gotten rid of my squirrel problem and the animals haven’t been back since.
